My late girlfriend was from Lyon, i love the french accent.
Very pleasant tune, sorta like a cross between nico and Europe's sandra.

Whip I understand something now so thanks for sharing. Great post.It was nice to hear your opinion.

and your line up of artists, not my genre but they are good imo.
Pleasant to my ears

I'm listening to Tactile Gemma right now.

oh and ps. I do like Peter Gabriel
I hope you took a listen to Tactile Gemma's "quite quiet".

Both "Quite Quiet" and "Bad Romance" have this kinda deep demonice growl in them...its very unique.
Both female vocalists have voices that are in complete contrast to each other.
Witch chanting and extreme vocals are heard throughout the rest of the album, that might just be a little to weird for most listeners.
For me, the only tactile gemma album ever released is one of my favorites of all time.

Wow. Something I agree with WHIP about!
Not Lady Gaga - who I do respect as an artist and as an individual (no, I don't believe she is being packaged, just being sold) but on the previous favourite artists.

Not 100% sue on Enya - that would be like eating Pop Rocks for breakfast, dinner and tea. Okay occasionally though. And I don't know Tactile Gemma. But I'd be interested in looking her (?) up thanks to the others on the list.

I like Lady G, I'm just not as smitten as WHIP.
With enya its more about the first album "Watermark" which was just a dream from start to end.
From then on, it was a song or two of every album that was amazing.
Cursum perficio,The memory of trees, Na laethe na moige, Boadicea, Ebudce to name a few.

"Dead can dance", with their 8 albums would be my #6 on that list.
A band worth discovering for someone who has never heard of them.

@ Whip: Don't know if you get Friday Night With Jonathon Ross over there; but Lady Gaga's guested on his show a couple of times.

here's one of them: First couple of mins it's a little stilted, but they both relax a couple of minutes in. She doesn't quite know how to take Ross I don't think.

I remember watching this interview with my Bro, and we were both astonished at how like one of our cousins she is :P

Second interview was quite recent and I think a better interview: This time she knows what to expect from Ross :P

WHIP- Quiet Quiet was exactly the song I listened to. I liked it very much. The background vocals didn't bother me. It is reminiscent of the background noise and chatter of Us and Them.At least it sparked that recall.

I would add US and Them from Dark Side of The Moon c/d to the Field of 64 but I could keep going until there isn't anymore space left on UT's site.

I will add Quiet Quiet to my mp3 list. Thanks

Although I do not care for Lady Ga Ga I think your responses are very cool. How unbent is that!

I don't understand people who put others down for their taste in music--all music is good, to the people that enjoy it.

I'm not a big pop star fan, but I do like dance music. I just saw a very interesting interview with her on Fuse. She's got a pretty strong vision and style. She's really more of a performance artist, using her style to shock people out of their preconceptions. we're going to see a lot more of her, that's for sure.

I think I saw the same or a similar interview. The interesting thing is she is not allowing anyone to coopt her brand, she must have taken some lessons from Madonna.

I think pretty much all subsequent pop stars have taken lessons from Madonna.

Mountain bike buddy was in the parking area cranking Madonna when I showed up Sunday. I shut it off for him and put some Audio Slave on... sheeesh... some people got no taste.

OK my kids have "converted" me -it's not what I choose to listen to -with certain exceptions (currently adding just Dance to the playlist for the warm up for tomorrow's swim meet), but it's really not that bad, It's pop, I don't do pop, but compared to the rest of that genre currently....
