That would be nice. Reminds me of what Ross Perot said. Gotta run it more like a business.
There is too much waste and bureaucracy. This isn't a D or R thing - its a Gov't thing that we can no longer afford. Reallocating resources or removing redundant layer upon layer of duplication would certainly help.
Exactly, classic. It should not be a democrat or republican issue. Our government is so full of red tape and waste, nothing really ever gets done. I'd be in favor of putting a lot more MAJOR issues on the ballot and let the citizens decide...not the clowns in Washington.

We need to vote the vast majority out and apply term limits on them so they don't make a career out of politics. We do it with the President...why not with the House and Senate? Limit them to 2 terms and that's it...for LIFE. Career politicians are only looking out for one group...themselves. We handled it in PA. A few years back some politicians in Harrisburg took it upon themselves to vote themselves pay raises in the middle of the night. After the uproar, some gave the money back, but some didn't (including a state judge) and soon found themselves unemployed.

The problem with today's society is the feeling of entitlement. Many people don't want to work for what they get...they feel they deserve it.

I think we have all those czars already -

For some things I agree, but what I don't want is the situation they have in CA.
THAT state is effed up.

The President is the head chef. The czars are tools he uses to manage the other chefs. Where does it stop? When the President doesn't feel that it would be useful to have someone help coordinate various agencies' efforts for a particular issue.

Not necessarily. Many czars are not confirmed by the house nor senate. That was a hot button issue for the GOP last Sept.
As I said, the term is being used moreso as of late to appoint people WITHOUT having to go through the confirmation process.

In that paragraph, the second sentence was intended to apply to the first, not to czars in general. I was referring to the ones that have actual power, instead of just being advisors. Do you know of any unconfirmed czars with statutory powers?

I completely disagree. I think Americans are so used to the fucking that, at most, they'll ask for a little lube so our sleep isn't disturbed.
