Take anyone to task? No. Disagree with? Discuss? Absolutely. "Taking people to task" means (to me) to berate, belittle, "yell" at, etc. So no, we shouldn't take anyone to task for their opinions.

There are ways to express your differing opinions other than calling people names, insulting them, demand they stop posting, stop reading posts, ad nauseum.

I've heard a lot of good about the French and a lot of bad about the French. I imagine that they're not much different than us--arrogant and asinine. The ones I've met were rather nice. Generalizing and stereotyping only perpetuates problems among various groups.

No, I'm having fun pushing your buttons. And I haven't slammed other cultures, I stated I dislike the French. I enjoy most other cultures. And I do enjoy arguing. But really, this wasn't a very good one. And I didn't take things out of context. No, you didn't exactly "quote" me, you took small fragments of sentences and pasted them together, leaving out the first part of the thought in every case. That, in my opinion, qualifies as sleazy. But hey, desperate people tend to do desperate things.
