Indians, Blue Jays, Phillies, Giants and Angels with the wins.

So we're half way through the year.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

American League

East

Who would have thought at the start of the season that the Tampa Bay Rays would be 55-39?
I did, and a few close to me who wagered with me.
Most people though, laughed at me.
Who's laughing now eh?

The Orioles will certainly lose the service's of Brian Roberts which would condemn them to last place in the division.
The Blue Jays don't look that much better, and should finish far behind the top 3 in 4th.

Personally, I think Boston's season is over, I few mediocre bats have stepped it up, but overall they are growing old and fat.
Their Bull-pen is far under par, and i think they'll be watching the two greater teams compete for this division from a far hird as the season rolls to its end.

The Tampa Bay Rays hopefull can compete with the Yankees all the way to the end, and maybe we can cash in on our 69/1 bet.
I don't underestimate the Yankees though, who's line-up is capable of putting on a run that can win them the division.
Mariano Rivera has proven those who said he was too old wrong.
Chamberlain will clearly be amongst the elite for years to come.

Rays or Yankees in a two horse race.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Central

The Indians season is over with Martinez and Hafner out.
Its too bad, cause their pitching really stepped it up this year.
Keep them in mind for next year should they find health.
The Royals look almost respetable with their quick guys and talented pitching, they could be competing in a few years time.

The Detroit Tigers have caught up and now look like possible contenders.

The Twins managed to remain competitive despite Santana leaving.

I told ya'll at the start of the year that the White Sox would be putting up some serious runs ....it was something they lacked last year.

I'm glad I avoided betting on this division as it remains up in the air.
It is at this time, a 3 horse race.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

West

A lot of people had Seattle picked as the potential winners of this division, but being 20 games behind he Angels at the half way point, it seems an impossible task ..... I will not be suprised at all to see them in 2nd at the end of the season.

The Rangers have been famous for their hitting line-up for years, but it isn't enough, is it?

Although Oakland is far from being a threat, I can respect their trading skills and the way they coach their pitching staff.

The half-way point finds the LA Angels ranked #1 in the major leagues.

A piece of cake for the Angels
.....they are world series bound.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

National League

East

Washington holds some very interesting players, I doubt they'll be able to hold on to them though, come trade dead-line.

The Braves season is over, who would have thought Atlanta would have a pitching problem.

Florida suprised me being 5 games above .500 at the half.
I don't believe they can keep it up, I don't see them as contenders.

Phillie and the Mets are too good not to run away with this.
I've chosen the Mets to win it, and I continue to believe so.
The Phillies line-up does scare me a bit, but apart from Hamels, the pitching is so many levels lower than the Mets, you have to assume New York will out-last them.

2 Horse Race .....the Mets with the edge.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Central

The Astros line-up is very impressive, if only they had a decent pitching staff.
Although Rodriguez has stepped it up, Oswalt is under-achieving.
When will the Astros become competitive again?
IMO, they are at this time, better than the Reds and the Pirates.

If Chris Carpenter was playing for St.Louis, they would be in the mix.
I may be wrong, but I can't imagine them competing with the Cubs for this division.

The Brewers made a nice little pick-up in CC.
Braun is out of this world!
Milwakee is tryna fight their way into this.

If I made 1 mistake at the start of the season, it was not mentioning the Cubs.
I mean, I knew how good the pitching staff was.
I knew about Soriano, Lee and Ramirez.
I also knew what most didn't.....
I knew about Fukudome and Soto.
So they deserved mentioning from me at the least.

Cubs, its as simple as that ....the Brewers are the dark horse.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

West

This division is a disgrace!
Who will win it?
Who cares?

MLB
2008 All Star Game

American League vs National League

How things have changed!
This year we've got the national league with a superior line-up, and the American league, with superior pitching, especially with the closers!

Soto, Berkman, Utley, Hanley Ramirez, Chipper Jones, Bryan Braun, Fukudome, Holliday and Soriano make this the best national league line-up I have ever seen!

The most interesting part of this game will be when the American league is pitching against these amazing bats.
Mariano Rivera, Jonathon Papelbon, Fransisco Rodriguez and Joe Nathan are the absolute elite in the major leagues
The best against the best!

Can you believe that the National league win pays 2.25?

Bet on the National League

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

NY Yankees vs Oakland A's
Mussina - Smith

Not a bad price given the teams that are playing.

Bet on the NY Yankees

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Tampa Bay Rays vs Toronto Blue-Jays

Shields - Burnett

This is where we seperate the mediocre teams from the great teams.

Bet on the Tampa Bay Rays

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

LA Angels vs Boston Red Sox

Lackey - Buchholz

From whatever angle you compare these two teams, the Angels ae superior.
Bats, Pitching, Bullpen.... the Angels are better.

Bet on the LA Angels

Lookout, this is about betting, so its not so much who I see in european soccer, but what value that is out there at this present time for long term bets.
Here a few good prices out there at this time:
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Champions league

Juventus should return to her throne.
The price's on PSV and Bordeaux are to high to ignore.

Juventus = 21.00
PSV = 67.00
Bordeaux = 81.00

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Campionato

Although Juventus may concentrate on the CL, the price does not reflect reality.

Juventus = 6.00

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Premiership

Chelsea seems to be the #1 contender, but the price on these two great teams are astronomical.

Man.City = 201.00
Everton = 201.00

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

French ligue 1

I have made money off Lyon winning this league this past decade.
This is the first time I'm picking another team to win it.

Bordeaux = 5.50

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Budensliga

There is no doubt that Munich is the best team in Germany, but should Bayern finally get their priorities straight, Werder would be the #1 contender for the Budensliga.

Werder Bremen = 7.00

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

YEY!
So, that was a perfect day as the Yankees easily beat the A's.
Tampa Bay beat the Blue Jays.
My Angels pounded the Red Sox 11-3!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

LA Angels vs Boston Red Sox
Saunders - Beckett

The bookies got it all mixed up in the starting pitching!
They think Garland is starting for the Angels and they've got Boston heavily favorites.
Jump all over this, as Saunders will pick up is league leading 13th win!

Bet on the LA Angels!!!

The Angels beat the red sox again!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

San Fransisco Giants vs Milwakee Brewers
Lincecum - Parra

Lincecum will not get hurt by the Brewers today.
This price on his win is way way too high, take it!

Bet on the San Fransisco Giants

Te brewers got the win.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

LA Angels vs Clevland Indians
Santana - Byrd

This is probably the best of the day.
Not because its most likely to happen, but because of the HUGE price!
I'm an Angels fan, so I'm not knocking the team...the team is ranked #1 in baseball.
Its just Santana, i mean he's showing signs of weakness.
Nothing justifies this price on the Clevland win.
The Angels, more than likely will beat the Indians tommorow with Jered Weaver pitching.
If Santana gets the win, it'll take them to 7 wins straight tommorow.
As a fan, i simply don't expect that.
What I do expect, is for the Angels to lose a game like this one.
Because of the price, I'm using this as a base.

Bet on the Clevland Indians

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Tampa Bay Rays vs Oakland A's

Kazmir - Eveland

Although the Rays are heavy favorites, the price is justified.
Its not just the team ....Kazmir's pitching.
If you've watched, you'd know how good of a bet this is.

Bet on the Tampa Bay Rays

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

It was nice cashing in today, as the Indians beat the Angels in LA.
Kazmir blanked Oakland 4-0, limiting the A's to only two hits!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Seattle Mariners vs Boston Red Sox
Dickey - Matsuzaka

Matsuzaka has been lights out!
The Mariners line-up is not equipped to hurt Matsuzaka at this time.

The Red Sox have been limited to 22-32 when playing away.

Dickey's ERA is under 1.30 over his last 5 starts.
Boston's line-up become's weak in away games.

Bet on the Under

So we cashed in on the under in the Red Sox - Mariners game!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Tampa Bay Rays vs Oakland A's
Shields - Smith

Shields has picked up 6 wins in a row at home, posting a 2.05 ERA and 0.90 W.HI.P
The A's are slipping back into reality loosing 6 of their last 7.
Easy win for the Rays.
We're taking it, despite the small odds.

Bet on the Tampa Bay Rays

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Seattle Mariners vs Boston Red Sox
F.Hernandez vs C. Buchholz

The last time Felix pitched against the Red Sox, he got a shut-out.
He's looked really good, winning 6 of his last 7 starts, recording 8-9k's a game!
The Red sox are terrible on the road as it is, I can't see them standing a chance here today.

Bet on the Seattle Mariners

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The Rays won, the Mariners lost.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

NY Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies
Perez - Moyer

This winner of this game will take possesion of first place in the NL East.

Bet on the NY Mets

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Baltimore Orioles vs Toronto Blue Jays
Cabrera - Halladay

The price is way too lop-sided not to jump all over it.
Halladay is good, but he's well over-estimated.
Cabrera throws some serious heat, and the Jays are exactly the kind of team he can look really good against.

Bet on the Baltimore Orioles

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Pittsburgh Pirates vs San Diego Padres
Herrera - Hensley

This is a tricky bet as Hensley will probably not last more than 5 innings.
The price on the Padres is too high considering all match-ups.

Bet on the San Diego Padres

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

CFL

Winnipeg Bluebombers vs Calgary Stampeders

All the media is saying how this game belongs to Winnipeg.
I don't get it!
Calgary is arguably, the best team in the CFL, where the Bluebombers are without a doubt, the worst of them all!

Bet on the Calgary Stampeders

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

The Mets won, taking first place in the NL East.
Winnipeg goes to 1-4 with the win over Calgary.
Halladay got the win for T.O.
The Padres lost to the Pirates.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Chicago Cubs vs Florida Marlins
Dempster - Johnson

Dempster has had an amazing year, he should pick up the win in this miss-match.

Bet on the Chicago Cubs

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Baltimore Orioles vs LA Angels
Burres - Saunders

The scale cannot tip much more than in this game.
Saunders is too good.

Bet on the LA Angels

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees
Beckett - Chamberlain

Here we go!
Beckett has been under par, and the Yankees are not going to be kind.
Chamberlain is the cream of the crop.

Bet on the NY Yankees

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Pittsburgh Pirates vs San Diego Padres
Duke - Baek

Baek is better than Dukes.
Other than that, they're evenly matched teams.
Nice price on the Padres.

Bet on the San Diego Padres

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

LA Dodgers vs Washington Nationals
Billingsley - Lannan

Lannan has been lights out of late!
This LA park is ideal for him to get his numbers even further down.
The Dodgers line-up is not much of a threat.
They have the Dodgers heavy favorites here.
It does not make sense.

Bet on the Washington Nationals

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

CFL

Hamilton Tiger Cats vs Edmonton Eskimos

The ti-cats have seriously improved this year to a degree that they'll be winning these kinda games.
The only quality the Eskimos hold is their offence, which is capable of puttng up some points.

Bet on the Hamilton Tiger Cats

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Marlins, Angels, Yankees, Padres, Dodgers and Eskimos with the wins.
The Yankees starter Chamberlain and closer Rivera are the greatest pitching combination in the game at this time.
They demonstrated it very well last night, blanking the Red Sox 1-0.
The next time Chamberlain pitches against the Red Sox, all eyes will be focused in when Youkoulis comes to bat, as Chamberlain, in his recent career in the Major's, has already targeted Youkoulis's head 3 times.
Possible bench clearing scenario upcoming for NYY-BOS.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees
Wakefield - Pettitte

They'll be a few more runs today.
The Yankees are clearly the superior team.
This particular game, being played in Boston evens it out a bit, but with the Yankees under-dogs, you have to jump all over this.

Bet on the NY Yankees

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Clevland Indians vs Minnesota Twins
Carmona - Baker

Carmona has been on the DL for over 2 months.
It is very common amongst the elite pitchers in baseball, upon returning from the DL, to have a bad outing.
Its expected actually.
Baker is 6-3 ... 3.26 ERA ... 1.09 W.HI.P.
3 of those wins came against the Tigers.
Mauer and Morneau batting 3rd and 4th, make this line-up capable of scoring consistently.

Bet on the Minnesota Twins

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Kansas City Royals vs Tampa Bay Rays
Hochevar - Kazmir

Is anybody watching this Rays 24 year old starter?
2.80 ERA.
100 strike-outs in 90 innings.
His career numbers are 717 K's in 660 innings.
This guy is for real!

Bet on the Tampa Bay Rays

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Another perfect day!

The Yankees beat up on the Red-Sox 10-3.

Carmona, as expected, had a bad outing, allowing 6 runs in the first inning as the Twins went on to beat Clevland 11-4.

The Rays beat the Royals 5-3, remaining 3.0 games ahead of the surging Yankees!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

CFL

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Toronto Argonauts

Tricky game... a lot of factors to consider.
The Roughriders, although superior, may not find this game that easy.
Close game.
The draw pays well, and there's been so few of them so far this season.

Bet on the draw (Within -+3.5)
