On a recent trip to purchase a cell phone and Palm Pilot, I noticed a new technology feature called Bluetooth. Not being "Techno-Savvy," I do not know much about it. If anyuone could inform me a bit, it would be appreciated!!!

Bluetooth allows devices that are near each other to transmit data wirelessly. For a Palm Pilot, it would allow you to get on the internet or sync your device without cables.

I don't know what its range is, or how fast it is.

As for its usefulness, I think its got some kinks to work out, such as its short range compared to 802.11 (wireless LAN) and its signal interference problems with other non-bluetooth wireless devices. But its definetley has some potential in the future.
