Damn....so many questions missed-this is what you get if you go to bed before 2 am.
OB seems to have fielded most, but I'd just like to add a couple of things.
I personally would like to see the UK adopt the Euro. It would stabilise the European economy, and provide a realistic alternative to the USA dollar in world finances. It would also, hopefully, increase internation co-operation. There is hardly much claim for keeping the Sterling for tradition's sake, when we've only had it for about 25 years.
