Let me amend my previous answer.
There are days when I would WISH to be stranded on an island with nothing but music. Those are the days when the people in my life are driving me NUTS. In other words, 364 out of the year. |

I'd choose my friends, the good ones who'd make excellent breeding stock and we'd forge our own civilization and all live happily ever after.
The rest of you can go sit in a sound booth for all we care.

Any amount of music you brought (assuming there's a way to play it on an island with no other people) will get repetitive after enough time.
I'd bring my friends, and we'd have a crazy rube goldberg house going in no time. Plus, about half of my friends are fellow circus performers so we'd never get bored. And if I could get all those friends to stick a deck of cards in their pockets, I'd really be set.

I've got these coconut shells we can clap together? Besides we could dress your husband up in a grass skirt when we get bored.
We could make instruments out of palm trees. For reeelz. Body boarding on weaved leaves anyone? Getting stranded on an island sounds too fun about now. Tom Hanks Impression: Wilson!!! Wilson!!!

I'd choose my friends 'cause:
"I got words in my head so I sing them ........I don't let life get me down Can't hold onto my blues so I play them ......I got the music in me ......I got the music in me ...I got the music in me, yea ......I got the music in me ......I got the music in me ......I got the music in me" |

lolz!!
That was my favorite part of the movie. The unlikely frienship that sprang up... Sometimes I say Wilson! in inapropriate moments, and no one gets it but me...heh.

That's like sometimes out of nowhere I'll yell "SCIENCE" and watch the stares.
We SO have to get together sometime and see how much we can intimidate with our combined weirdness.

I must be a sociopath too. My first thought was "Of course friends. Like you're really gonna fuck one of your records?"

Well, you didn't say the island was actually deserted, or if there was electricity. What good would it do to take music with you if there is no way to play it? Besides, if you have friends with you, you can make your own music. that's always more fun.
