Titanic Sequel?

My titanic sequel idea:

It might be cool if they did a Titanic sequel that tells the story of Rose's life AFTER the first movie...

Think of all the stuff Rose witnessed and did in those 90 years... The stock market crash, both world wars, giving birth, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, falling in love again after Jack, did she ever see Molly Brown or her mother again? Man's landing on the moon, woman's suffrage movement, civil rights movement. How did she became a pilot? Did she ever get back on a ship? How did she meet her future husband, how did HE die?

You might be able to work that into a crappy romance novel, like that unnecessary sequel to Gone with the Wind.

Nah.

Titanic 2, with the same cast, same script, but each actor is a character they were in another movie.

Such as -

Leonardo DiCaprio .... Arnie Grape
Kate Winslet .... Clementine Kruczynski
Billy Zane .... The Phantom
Kathy Bates .... Annie Wilkes
Frances Fisher .... Donna Garcia
Bill Paxton .... Dinky Winks
Bernard Hill .... Warden Luther Plunkitt
David Warner .... Dr. Carl Farnsworth
Victor Garber .... Professor Callahan
Jonathan Hyde .... Dr. Allen Chamberlain
Danny Nucci .... Jesse Torrejo
Bernard Fox .... Doctor Bombay
Michael Ensign .... Father Frank Nolan

And so on...

I thought up the idea, but I used www.imdb.com to confirm the alternate names. I would love to see Jack climb the radio shack, throwing drawings of naked people as he went, and Rose yelling "Dr. Bombay! Dr. Bombay! Emergency!! Come right away!!!"

I can see it now. Rose laying naked on a couch again. Only this time the couch belongs to Sigmund Freud and she is trying to overcome her fear of iceburg lettuce.

I think there should be a B story arc where The Phantom battles Annie Wilkes, who is the evil force that is responsible for fueling Johnny Depp's career.

The movie could be played out as a dream that Kevin Smith is having after having been hit by a van driven by Ben Affleck on a shoulder-less New Jersey highway.

The first movie sucked so bad...are they seeing if they can recreate the magic of the original overly sentimental tripe?

Bill Paxton is right up there with Kevin Costner in the horribly monotone overrated actor category.

But Kathy Bates? Can't go wrong with her, though she would probably only do it for the cash and not for her personal artistic development.
