Does NJ require a permit to trap wild animals?

I drowned him. and it was definitely a him. Who knew squirrels had such big balls?

Worst part is.... about an hour later, Amanda saw another squirrel go up the post and into the roof. I think we either got the wrong squirrel, or more than one is living in there....

One day last week we came out, and the peanut butter was gone, the tray outside the trap, and lots of fur caught in the wires. We figured he either got out somehow, or the trap didn't close fully.....

either way, a week had gone by since then and I was about to give up and remove the trap.... thinking that he was smart enough to stay clear of it since that happened. Then this morning.... got him! but maybe not so much. I don't want to kill EVERY squirrel in my area. Maybe I'll get lucky and see him in blow gun range.

Well, that was humane...Like a little squrl Gitmo going on up there.

Being Jersey, I figured two behind the ear, and a one way ride to the Barrens.

ha. we actually talked about that. When I was young, my buddy, Dan used to hunt them. I've eaten fried squirrel. Kind of gross, but we were being manly. There was a little tuft of hair on the leg I ate. ick.

Squrl pee?

Squrl pee.

One of the quirks of my new camera is that it doesn't like to shoot through multiple panes of filthy glass. If I use auto-focus I find that the area of focus is consistently 6-8 feet closer to the camera than I'm going for. I've been assuming this is caused by shooting through a filthy triple-pane window, on a downward angle.

I thought it was funny. Reminds me of people feeding bears out the trunk of their cars in the Smokies. They run out of food and close the trunk. The bear opens the trunk back up and doesn't need a key.lol.
