has anyone thought that maybe the audition, death of a traveling salesman has something to do with a much more recent movie, like Big Fish?

Well, knowing the creator of this site, it's more likely a literature reference. But I wouldn't discount movies either, anything at all helps at this point. The only things with salesmen I can think of are:

"Death Of A Salesman" by Arthur Miller. Synopsis: Willy Loman is a travelling salesman, the book never tells what he's selling. He can no longer sell anything, and is no longer popular He is ridden by flashbacks of "Uncle Ben", who struck it rich and is tempting him in cryptic hints to kill himself. His family notices he is trying to kill himself by inhaling gas from the water heater(?). He eventually kills himself by means of car.

"The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka. Gregor Samsa, another salesman, wakes up one morning to find he has been turned into a cockroach, bedbug, some sort of bug like that. His literal death is when an apple rots on his carapace and kills him. His figurative death is as soon as his family stops loving him when they see his new appearance. One of the pages on TINP references the opening of this book. this is the ../carpace.htm page.

"Death Of A Travelling Salesman" by Eudora Welty. This book is about RJ..someone (sorry, cannot remember whom), who eventually 'dies of a broken heart/loneliness.'

For audition i can think only of Kiki's audition, which she cannot attend for obvious reasons.

Maybe the link betweeen the two is how each died? TINP gave a clue on the official forums to 'be literal.' Someone else who got in said it's something "subtle and subliminal." I know separate theories and synopses have been posted here before, but maybe seeing them all together or in different words will help someone. I hope so!

Well the thing in Big Fish is the dad turns out to be a traveling salesman.. well the dad loves to tell tall tales, so when the son is talking about his dad he's telling the stories... well at the end of the movie the dad dies listening to the story that his son was telling. The story the son was telling was about how the dad would die.....
as for literal meaning... maybe something like 'heart' could work

Riges??

I might have stumbled on to something. On the Carpace page - ridges is spelled riges. The "Danmarks Riges Grundlov" is the Constitutional Act of the Kingodm of Denmark. If I remember correctly, there has been some talk of June 6, 2005 on the boards. The "Danmarks Riges Grundlov" was signed into effect on the 5th of June, 1953. The June 5, 2005 is on a Sunday. I don't know if they have holidays on the Monday following if it falls on a Sunday or not. June 6th is also Flag Day in Sweeden.

Just a thought....

It has been proposed that, as was done in the past, we have a brainstorming c.hat shindig in AIM, IRC, (or likely, both).

I suggest Saturday the 26th, if folks aren't going to be traveling 'til the next day for Easter. April the 2nd is the next best day.

In either case, I'll be entering the room at around 7:00am EST (GMT-5), and will be there until I can't keep my eyes open any longer. All and sundry are welcome to join in, and don't feel that you have to take my leaving (when it happens) as a reason to leave yourself.

AIM room: tinp, feel free to invite yourself. IM me if you need an invite.

IRC: irc.hack3r.com, channel #tinp. If for some reason hack3r is down, we'll try lightning.chattingaway.com, same channel. If they're both down, everything will hapeen on AIM, or we'll find a channel on some other server when it happens.

First post here. This is where I got most of my information before going to the official TINP forums. Anyway, I've concluded a few things that you might want to know. the word "scepter" from the "WhereisGotanda?" page is an anagram for "specter". And my explaination for the password "Tragedy" or "Tragic" is posted at the TINP forums here:
http://www.thisisnotporn.com/forums/...pic=671&st=320
Now the only problem I have is finding out what the username is. I tried the obvious first:
Death of a Traveling Salesman = "Tragic" or a "Tragedy"
Audition = "Thriller" "Horror" etc

but no results. Hope this helps someone find the answers, if you do please let me know.

hello, ive read most of this forum for help with this isn not porn, im jsut about as far as everyone else. my friends and i noticed faces appearing in the robert silvers page, so i saved the image and looked more closely. sure enough they were there. inverting the colors makes them more obvious. they might be intentional, but i theorize mr. tinp took the picture from a car, with the window up. i think this might be our first look at the person behind this webpage, or better yet, something we can actually use to progress. however, its become abundantly clear that we need a new way of looking at this. we are, at any given time on a webpage. our goal is to progress from this webpage to the next. there are a few ways we can do this....clicking a link, typing a password and changing the adress. we arent popted for passwords on dead end pages such as my eyes are burning hel and the st. johns wort page. that leaves clicking links and changing adresses. ive scoured the pages for links and there are none, so either we need to decipher death of a salesman or type in a new adress. secondly, it would be good if someone could rewrite all the passwords and usernames for new people ( i know its been done before, but this thread is like 30 pages long, we should probably do it again) and give explanations of how these were found, then write a synopsis of all the pathways and dead ends weve seen so far so everyone is on the same page.

I think by not doing this we are encouraging newcomers to read the entire thread, which they should be doing anyways, to make sure they don't post something that's been gone over already.

It's funny, I think I've seen that before though I never related it to TINP. Or maybe it was posted at the official TINP forums but was never thought to be related to the site... I can't remember.

i have a feeling kris reads these forums and knows people are getting bored, so he's switching things up a bit. i also think there was a dead line and we missed it. i say this because the picture....everything about it...is identical to how it was before, except the stove is gone. unless its april fools

If you're talking about the popups that have no spaces, with a lot of "chee" in them, that's Navajo. Read the whole thread, we've even posted a navajo alphabet.

Regarding the multiple accounts: Good thought. One that makes it all the harder for us, but intriguing to say the least.
