If you had to leave your country for another ...

If you had to leave your country for another , where would you go , and why ?

Because we are speaking about a hypothesis , we shall allow ourselves a little magic . There are no language barriers . You would be able to speak the language of your chosen country .

I chose Australia because Kagen is there.

Second choice...Italy. Tuscany. Great lovers, great food, great landscapes and a great lifestyle!

Most of the countries that I would want to live in have fucked up their firearms laws to the point that I now don't want to go.

I would like to try different bits of the United States.

That's funny Wolf. Let me make a recommendation for you though - Stay AWAY from Kansas! or just the midwest in general. The people are nice, but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired.

Do I have to get a job there, or can I just be on vacation?

Australia. Or Tasmania, the southern part.

Well, you might have guessed, but it would be 'La Belle France' for me - reason, (food, wine, scenery and transport network aside) the French just won't let anyone piss around with their way of living, so, allowing for the few hiccups resulting from those newcomers who think otherwise, the country manages to retain its historic culture and traditions.

For a slightly eccentric example, where else could you travel several miles along a country lane with no turnings to right or left and then come across a 'rue barre' (road closed) sign, simply because the next village is holding it's annual fete (it happens all the time)- so you just have to turn round (possibly reverse) all that distance you have travelled - magic! and it just wouldn't happen here, ever. I once tried to close a 100 yard stretch of residential road near Hampton Court, between two junctions for the Golden Jubilee celebrations and was turned down flat by the local council concerned 'for safety reasons'.

Where would I go - my favourite location is the foothills of the Pyrenees around Prades - mountain scenery, summer sun, clean air - but there are plenty of contenders as every region has its own charm and character.
