Edit: I'm not trying to revive the idea that the date may be being checked, but there is a call on a variable from TheBoy.htm in ths Scandinavian Imports page.

I really don't think this would have any effect, as many of us were actually working on this riddle on that date. Somewhere in this thread there's probably more information about that, and if not there will be at the TINP forums when they come back.

The anniversary of D-Day, Sweden's Flag Day, a couple other things occur on this date...

There was one, or a link to one, but again: I don't know if it's here or at the TINP forum.

Silver's right, though I think both his estimates are a little too high.

Both numbers probably are high, especially the '15' (it's probably closer to 10). I'd say the max-at-once is no lower than 30, more likely 35, based on the fact that I have 25 people on my TINP-related AIM buddylist, and there were more than that at one point but I deleted them by their own request when they moved on from TINP. Also at the height, there were also a number of people who were active on one forum or another that either never gave out their AIM name or never used it for tinp'ing.

First Page

Hi, I'm new to this experience. I have spent some time studying the source on the first page, but it appears there are no links to any other page. I've tried in Firefox and IE. IE 6 yields javascript errors. There is a hidden form with no action, and of course the javascript popup. Do I need to hex-edit the tinp.swf to find a link or something? Does this require special software?

How does one start this? Has the author closed "registration?" The forums on tinp are also gone.

It's now on a different host, www.ketadreams.com/forum/

The only person TINP related on my buddy list, is TINP.

It's back up guys, and I've made a large back up to the back up so this never happens again. Who wants to update the new clue topics on the forums?

Which one? "MM_popupMsg(''+(new Date()){...}"? That's a JS routine that's native to that particular page--it pops up a JS alert with the current day and time as registered on your computer, plus the phrase "De jongen zal alleen sterven." ("The boy will die alone.") I don't think there's any major significance here; it's just one more way "We" (the various pages) "AreConnected" : )

Also, TheBoy closes itself (or at least it's supposed to) less than a second after it opens. In order for any variables it set to be accessed by another .htm, it would have to have a {self.name='';} property (I believe that's the one) for the outside page to refer back to, and it would have to remain open long enough for said other page to be able to grab the variable.

Nice observation, though--I'd forgotten that Date() was called there ; it's likely worth another intense search to see if there's anything else the vets know so well that we've dismissed it.
