Everybody loves listening to police scanners, don't they?

(Many departments do a really good santa tracking bit on Xmas eve ... you might want to tune in just for that.)

The following website is a surefire waste of at least an hour

Vector Park

The center circle, my favorite, has you build a mobile in a cool balancing act.

The left circle is a mystlike adventure that I don't really get.

The right circle has you interact with lifelike objects using your mouse.
Amusing, but the other two circles are cooler.

From what I understand, the whole shebang was made with Flash.

This is just entirely too much fun.

Compensating for the fan is really quite difficult.

The 1st Marine Division tore down the statue in Baghdad. In February they are redeployed to the Sunni Triangle. They want to give the people a great first impression of the Marines. It could be a life or death difference.

Help the Marines present the children of the Sunni triangle with toys, schooling and medicine. Make generosity and caring the "face of America". Tell the people the Marines are on their side.

When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s the Marines were the thick-skulled hard-ass guys who would beat you up for no good reason. Converting them to kind giving souls on our behalf is a weird and beautiful switcheroo.

Still, they were the guys who would beat me up when I was a kid.

Gaw bless um. It turns out we need all kinds of people. I just wish I was the cool kid who didn't get beat up.
