ticks (UK) = checks/checkmarks (US)
peace/victory sign can be either way around in US, in UK must be palm out. Palm in is the V sign which means "fuck off" (I think stems from captured archers having their bow fingers cut off and being taunted) and is just as offensive as flipping the bird (middle finger only) CND Symbol (UK) = Peace Symbol (US)
