Brit researchers are now able to recreate images of animals that lived hundreds of thousands of years ago, animals they couldn't have studied otherwise. Buried in rock certain ways, they're normally unrecoverable as fossils. But they're getting images in MRI fashion -- shaving rocks, taking the shavings where the animal is fossilized, and creating the 3D images by putting the shavings back together.
