October 5, 2006: Record 100 lb. burger

Here at IotD we shall never pass up a record burger, so when Neatorama picked this one up it also went straight into the IotD queue.

As longtimers know, Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in PA is the usual record holder; shown below is their 50-pounder.

New entrant Bob's BBQ, featuring "Taste as big as Texas!", is located in Thailand. This just doesn't seem right somehow, and I for one urge Denny to reach beyond his grasp and build once again the world's largest burger. This record simply can't happen outside the states. It's just not right.

This Portugese entrant, weighing in at 50kg, was noticed by a Neato commenter. But look at it! Poor quality! Mostly non-meat! I laugh at this mockery of a burger!

IotDers will also recall the 100-patty In-n-Out burger. Glorious!

What tracks are on that burger, anyway? Must be a bitch to put on a turntable...

As for the first pic, all I can say is "open wider, honey"

I, too, agree that this is a record that the United States must, nay, will hold! Get on it, you loafers, and make me a damn burger!

Trilby 10-05-2006 03:02 PM

I'm also going to be LJ to it and say the Portugese entrant looks like---

---bukkake.

I'm pretty sure slang could finish that, but no condiments.

How many Ethiopians would that feed for a week I wonder?

Pointless stunts like this really piss me off. What does it achieve?

Ibby 10-05-2006 05:39 PM

That last burger merely looks like a McDonalds burger.

Blechh.

Thank god they had the decency to put the gherkins on top and not in the centre of the burger, it would be a real pain in the rear end to dismantle the burger to remove them. But personally I like gherkins on my McDonalds burgers. :)
