Hillsborough Charity Song

So out of the loop...... just found out this was the UK Christmas #1 (forgot to check) ...don't know who most of the younguns are, horrified by the appearances of the ones I knew.... Thank goodness most of them can still sing. But Macca needed to quiet his self-importance -he doesn't have IT any more, and Shane McGowan.... I'm thinking stroke? I need to reconsider my deadpool list.....

But I love the song, and Hillsborough was probably the human tragedy of my youth I was most struck by ...my teen friends and I had plans as teens do, and one of the taxi parents couldn't drive because she was a policewoman and was called back on duty and sent from Manchester to help, so we knew about it moments after it happened and watched it unfold. Kids just like us. Doing the things we did. Or would have done if we didn't spend our money on the pub instead of the soccer......

I'd been thinking Macca is over the hill until that benefit for Sandy concert. He did a great job there, singing better than I've heard him in many moons.
