The King.. "TIK"

TOCK

"when the clock stops the gears go unwound"... as you can see the clock stopped at T'he K'ING.. so how do we get this clock ticking again.. well I think it varies from culture to culture.. I believe that Jesus is the KING of KINGS so in order to get the clock ticking again we have to wind it back up every December and remember that Baby Jesus was born this month, and we celebrate his birthday on the 25th.. I will glorify the King of Kings I will glorify the Lamb I will glorify the Lord of Lords who is the Great I am..

25th.

The 24th is reserved for reality. That's when my aliens are coming back to get me.

But yeah, Jebus' birthday is celebrated on the 25th.

Kingdoms are tyranny. To worship Kings is a fool's errand.

You do know that Jesus was not actually born on Dec 25th, right? Christmas is celebrated on the 25th because the Xtians wanted to oust the Yule and Winter Solstice celebrations.

Quote:
Although Christian feasts related to the Nativity have had specific dates (e.g. December 25 for Christmas) there is no historical evidence for the exact day or month of the birth of Jesus.[76][77][78]
So, in fairness, there is a 1/365 chance that it IS the 25th.... why not just celebrate his birth EVERY Day?

I know dat, Jim. I also know dat it's CELEBRATED on the 25th.

I mean, if we're going to have a thread about a king with a tic, we should be accurate.

Gospel music is great! Many great artists credit a beginning in gospel.

I like the noise of it.
I really don't like the sentiment.

It especially sells the promise of a better life after this, rather then striving to make this life better.
Gospel music in the US is rooted in slave culture, so of course I understand the reasoning.
It still makes me flinch though.

I think that's one of the things I like about it. Its roots in slave culture. There's always an edge of resistance to that acceptance. It sells the dream of future happiness, but claiming that right was in itself a massive act of resistance and a way of twisting the dominant culture to their own ends.
