Dirty lyrics that technically aren't
I was listening to the oldest version of Shake, Rattle and Roll by Big Joe Turner, when he sang these lyrics.
Quote:
Back in the day when there were censors, it was almost a game what artists would try to sneak past them. The Blues was very earthy music, and when it started moving to the mainstream I'm sure some changes were made. Still, a lot of songs had more than one meaning.

Stick out your can,
here come the garbage man. I'm not the butcher, and I'm not the butcher's son. But, I can give you meat, till the butcher boy comes.

We had a LT when I was stationed in IceLand , he used to arrange these road trips for us , once we were going to Gullfoss http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gullfoss I think , well this LT desided to bring his girl friend along ( nice looking Blond chick ) , wel we had brought along a jam box ( and a half gallon of vodka ) , wwell after a while on the road ( and few shots ) dude with the jam box played Big Balls ,, the LT was NOT happy !!!!! Damn those were some Long Quiet rides after that !!!

"Hey, baby, I'm your telephone man
You just show me where you want it and I'll put it where I can I can put it in the bedroom, I can put it in the hall I can put it in the bathroom, I can hang it on the wall You can have it with a buzz, you can have it with a ring And if you really want it you can have a ding-a-ling Because-a hey baby, I'm your telephone man" Can you believe that? And then he says: "Now when other fellas call ya tell 'em how it all began" Well...can you imagine? My heart began a-thumpin' and my mind began to fly And I knew I wasn't dealin' with no ordinary guy So while he was a-talking I was thinkin' up my plan Then my fingers did the walkin' on the telephone man Singin' hey lolly, lolly Hey lolly, lolly Hey lolly, lolly Get it any way you can Right? Ha ha ha, so... I got it in the bedroom, and I got it in the hall And I got it in the bathroom, and he hung it on the wall I got it with a buzz, and I got it with a ring And when he told me what my number was I got a ding-a-ling A-singin' hey lolly, lolly Hey lolly, lolly Hey lolly, lolly Just-a doin' my thing Ha, ha...I've never done anything like this before!

Mama's got a squeeze box she wears on her chest And when Daddy comes home he never gets no rest Cause she's playin' all night And the music's all right Mama's got a squeeze box Daddy never sleeps at night Well the kids don't eat And the dog can't sleep There's no escape from the music In the whole damn street Cause she's playin' all night And the music's all right Mama's got a squeeze box Daddy never sleeps at night She goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out She's playin' all night And the music's all right Mama's got a squeeze box Daddy never sleeps at night She goes squeeze me Come on and squeeze me Come on and tease me like you do I'm so in love with you Mama's got a squeeze box Daddy never sleeps at night She goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out Cause she's playin' all night And the music's all right Mama's got a squeeze box Daddy never sleeps at night [/size] |
