Stones smoker didn't break law after all

Thank god the jack-booted idiots lose one.

Stones smoker didn't break law after all

Keith Richards: Journalists reported his smoking on stage to the council.
POSTED: 3:00 a.m. EDT, August 29, 2006
GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) -- Keith Richards won't be fined for reportedly lighting up during a Rolling Stones concert in Scotland.

The stage at Hampden Park, where the band performed Friday night on their "A Bigger Bang" tour, is exempt from a new law that bans smoking in enclosed public places, the Glasgow City Council said Monday.

Violators of the new law, which took effect in March, can be fined up to $95. The ban includes theaters and sports venues.

Richards' publicists at LD Communications in London did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The City Council said it had heard from journalists that the 62-year-old guitarist was smoking during the performance, but it wasn't known whether the journalists had been at the concert.

I shouldn't think that law would apply to an actor engaged in a theatrical performance, which he certainly was.

See... you are trying to apply logic to antis... it does not work that way.
Remember these are people who think that private property should be their's to rule over.
Logic is their bane.

Scotland is ahead of England & Wales in this at present. We're not going to face it for a couple of years yet...

Now the Health Police have got smoking banned in public Places the next target on their list is drinking or binge drinking as they keep banging on about .
One of the madcap Ideas was to limit each person to be only allowed 4 drinks max in any 1 bar visit, how it would work in reality is beyond me....
