The author said it was a 'reference' point. Visual references and joke references not scientific obviously. Who has clocked a raptor on a hoverboard?
I know how big a field mouse is but I doubt anyone squeezed the blood out of one to find out.

Most people are smart enough to know a 2 liter bottle is just shy of 1 liter so I know 3 liters is a little larger than a 2 liter bottle.
