Looks like the "Safety Team" showed up a little late ... although the presence of that vehicle adds a nice shade of irony, doesn't it?

It happened before the race started. The pace car was running too fast which caused the field to stretch out then when they slowed the leaders the ones trying to catch up crested the hill at full bore.
