If Jesus died for all of mans sins, did He not die for the sins of Judas Iscariot also?

If not, why?

Are not the sins of Pontius Pilate also forgiven?

What of Cain, recognized as the first murderer? Are his sins forgiven?

What is the limit of forgiving?

Are Hitlers sins forgiven?

Pol Pot? Stalin? Jeffery Dahmer?

Just wondering...

Well, yeah. The way I tend to view un-Murdochian (read: actual) Christian forgiveness is like this. Picture a guy on the sidewalk behind a Psychiatrist Lucy from Peanuts-esque desk. He's handing out free money. Trick is, you gotta ask for it. If you do, cool: here's some money. If you don't, the guy behind the desk will be bummed because hey - why turn down free money and be miserable? But hey, your call.

Root theory of the Crucifixion in its basic sense (which is all I got from sporadic CCD classes as a kid plus amateur theology research of my own) works as follows: "All the bullshit you'd have to go through post-death to get into Heaven? I (Jesus) cut through all that. You don't owe Me anything - it's like that person that walks around and puts a quarter in your parking meter just before it expires. Just ask to be let through the door, and you got it. All I ask is that you not be a schmuck. If you happen to engage in schmuck-like behavior, it's cool, just own up to it and we're golden. Should you choose not to ask to get in, well, it's a bummer but it's your life."

AFAIK, "You might be a Catholic if..." was never part of his act.

Yup, you're right.

I meant to say "paraphrase", not "quote".
