more so than an ordinary door? Look like you could put a brolly up easier as the door lowered.

I remember seeing this before, it's an idea that's been prototyped for years, I guess these guys are trying it again, they look really well done.
Also there is no central pillar, just one long window reducing blind spots.

I know they're terribly uncool, but I like the sliding doors on minivans for many of same reasons, big wide access (I'm big and find normal door opeings small and awkward) and swing out needing a lot of area
