Interesting. I like the sliding scale depending on importance and or pain.

The coin thing would have been my preferred route, except due to being on different pages in different books, some of the parents in the house thought it was ok to let the kids play with coins from a very early age, thus diminishing their specialness.

hint: it is the same parent who will loosely stuff up to $60 in change in her coat pocket with out a flap or button...

I opted for larger $ since I clearly remember my dad, in all sincerity handing me .50 and telling me to go to the movies, buy myself a popcorn and keep the change. I'm not even sure you could do that in 1935.
