Hurricane preparations

I'd figured I would pick up a few D batteries the Friday before the storm hit my area, but I was several hours too late. One clerk told me they ran out by 1PM, and there I was, casually shopping at about 7PM.

I really wanted to avoid using candles if the power went out. Last time we had a lit candle in the house, Bosco was so enthralled by it he tried to sniff the flame.

Amazingly, I was able to get duct tape. I have 100+ y.o. windows and was just a tiny bit worried about the panes blowing out, so I'd planned to make temporary repairs with trash bags and the duct tape. But lucky for me, the wind and rain didn't really hit the sides of the building my windows face.
