This year, the Libertarian Party is running Bob Barr who is not a libertarian in the slightest. That is to say, he's exactly as libertarian as you are.
The Bush administration did more damage to America than any other president in American history including Lincoln, FDR, Taft, Wilson, Clinton, and Nixon. McCain will continue his failed and destructive policies and he'll most likely die while in office leaving us with an airheaded neocon. Bush nearly destroyed America, and they would finish the job. This year will be no different. Either a Republican or a Democrat will win. So my choice is to pick the candidate that is least offensive to true libertarians. Normally, I'd vote for the libertarian candidate, but since the LP is no longer run by actual libertarians and they are running a candidate who isn't a libertarian, I'm going to go with Obama. I don't like him as a candidate, but he is leaps and bounds better than Barr or McCain. He will end the blatantly unconstitutional and wholly unlibertarian war in Iraq.

Quote Radar "I'm going to go with Obama.
I don't like him as a candidate, but he is leaps and bounds better than Barr or McCain. He will end the ~snip~ war in Iraq." Sure he will - and he'll lower taxes and give us Universal Healthcare and and and and ad nauseum. He won't do squat just like the rest of them - He delivers a speech VERY well, but I don't see any substance behind it. I have similar negative views on the other guy too - too old too outdated too far right... The direction of America for at least the next four years is at stake and it doesn't look good no matter who gets elected. These guys look at winning the election as the end, when it should be the beginning of an opportunity to serve and better this country.

Not only will he end the ILLEGAL / UNCONSTITUTIONAL war in Iraq, he will have a Democratic Congress behind him. He will have no obstacles to prevent him from doing everything he has said he would do.
In much the same way George W. Bush had a Republican Congress for 6 years, he can pretty much get anything he wants. The only difference is Bush and Cheney wanted to fuck America and destroy it, and Obama wants to repair their damage.

now that's just ignorant. he'll have NO OBSTACLES?!? he's a fucking politician. the biggest obstacle will always be the question "will this give me more or less power?" he'll make noises about the war and change some things around but in the end he will go about he same basic plan on the same basic schedule.
Radar NO ONE who is halfway competent/connected enough to get near public office would even consider just picking the troops up, bringing them home, and saying "sorry folks, our bad". it won't happen.

NOBODY who is competent or intelligent would have sent the troops to Iraq in the first place. Obama will be able to bring the troops back without any help from anyone in Congress. As president, all he has to do is order it.
It will happen. Not only should he bring them back, he should apologize to the people of Iraq for George W. Bush starting an unwarranted, unprovoked, and unconstitutional war of aggression against them. They will be free to determine their own destiny at that point. It will happen.

Within the first year and a half of his presidency, the last troops will have left Iraq.

Not at all. They were free to determine their own destiny before we ever went there. The destiny they had chosen was to have Saddam Hussein rule them. If they wanted something else, they could have overcome Saddam and his forces without any help from America.

This whole thread by Radar and his links and comments are just laughable. I don't see why you waste time responding to this BS.
