Our Pagan Wedding
Just a simple hadfasting ritual, on the year-and-a-day anniversary of our official civil marriage. "Jumping the Broom" and all that, with vows that we wrote ourselves (well, I actually didn't write anything down, I spoke from the heart).
Funny thing was, my Baptist Step-Mother (EDIT) felt "uncomfortable" with it being a "Pagan" ceremony, and opted not to attend. This is funny because #1 my Father, her Husband, does not now nor has he ever gone to Church of any kind, or believe in any kind of religious dogma, and she is married to him, and #2 I've certainly never refused to attend a wedding because it was held in a Christian Church or involved a Christian ceremony. I wasn't upset or anything, I just thought it was funny. We held a housewarming party which began at 4:00, and the ceremony was at dusk, if you chose to stick around. I wouldn't have cared if nobody was there for the ceremony. But, those that did attend were able to appreciate it for what it was, and were not troubled by thoughts of "Satan Worship" ha ha ha
