Never heard of such a thing, I get the impression Brits communicate a lot in slang unintelligible to the rest of the English speaking world.
It may be certain areas or classes though. But Like any language if you grow up with it you accept it as normal.

When my girls were in Catholic school I used to call Wednesday Night Bingo. No slang but heavy on lucky troll dolls.
