They started out "stock" back in the 50's. Now you have to own lots of stock and other assets to even think about building one.
Now the car and truck bodies vaguely resemble something manufactured by some one but everything else is dictated by NASCAR in the name of Homeland Security, er, um, I mean safety. It's not "fixed" but it's as "orchestrated" as pro wrestling.
