Bush, Rove, Allison, Atwater, et al, learned their crap,....uh,....craft, working on Winton "Red" Blount's campaign for the U.S. Senate, in 1972 Alabama. They figured out how to take racism, underground. In the ensuing 32 years, they’ve perfected how to take the basic moves of coded racism, and apply it to a myiade of topics. Anything people disagree on, they can work in to a “fear & loathing” campaign issue, sometimes working both side with the right “spin”. Winton Blount IV now carries on the family tradition, according to newspaper accounts, subcontracting for the likes of Halliburton and Bechtel in Saudi Arabia and Iraq today.
