PBS radio demonstrates a REAL and serious problem. One listener complains how Kerry *outted* Cheney's daughter. How can this be? VP Cheney was making comments about his lesbian daughter even weeks previously. However a Fox News reporter accused Kerry of outing her during the debates. Sufficient information for an extremist. Clearly Kerry was so dispicible as to out a lesbian.
In multiple posts, I complain about how so many use only emotion to make decisions; citing Lookout123 as a poster boy. Many even believe Rush Limbaugh and Fox News are news sources. They are called propaganda, folks. Even Howard Stern is a more credibile news source. They are credible - like Pat Robertson's 700 Club. And yet that is THE news source for many. They just feel the news must be more correct because it just feels right? One even accuses Kerry of outting a lesbian that Cheney had already done weeks ago. At this point I add the classic example of what happens when the news is distorted. People actually believed those aluminum tubes were for WMDs. By now we should have learned who the enemy is and why we should not regard Fox News and Rush Limbaugh as credible. Last night, Ted Koppel reported interviews in VietNam about the battle that won Kerry a Silver Star. Kerry captured a B-40 Rocket launcher that could have taken out his swift boats. At the end, Koppel interviews some guy who wrote a whole book about how Kerry is a liar. A one point, Koppel had to even ask the guy to stop putting books into the camera so they could actually talk facts. To stop reading the same 'single sentences taken out of context' as if it was the Bible. These are classic George Jr supporters. One must see this show to appreciate the mental logic used in support of George Jr. I give Ted Koppel great credit for having so much patience with a man who (there is no other word for it) publishes lies about Kerry. One could say by the end of that interview, Koppel was disgusted. His 'end of report' commentary reflects a major problem we know have in America. What Koppel reported does not agreed with the right wing rhetoric - therefore Koppel must be lying. Ahhh but Sinclair broadcasting has aready declared Nightline as some kind of anti-American plot because Nightline read the names of everyone killed in Iraq. I am ashamed that extremist even called himself an American. And yet it gets even worse. 50% of this nation would even vote for a mental midget who does not even read his own memos. Who just sits there for seven minutes doing nothing as America is under attack. We are that dumb. On PBS, the guy actually believed Kerry had outted Cheney's daughter. How dumb do they think we are? Yes, many of us are that dumb as to believe a Fox News reporter, USSR's Radio Moscow, that Ariel Sharon wants peace, and that Hitler must have been a friend of mine. Must be true. You just read it on your computer! Remember, same type of people are who Hitler found so easy to recruit. Repeated lies just pick - pick - pick at the news so that the mentally deficient among us will actually believe these lies - such as Kerry outted a lesbian and that Hilter was a friend of mine. |

I watched the debate with a friend who is pro-Kerry, but even he got caught up in the "outing" thing. He didn't even rember that Kerry had made his bland, observational remark about Cheney's daughter in response to a direct question about whether being gay was something one is born with or the result of a choice. My friend also didn't know that Cheney's daughter openly admits to being gay and was hardly "outed" by Kerry. Such is the impact of media hysteria.

It did not take me long to see through Fox News. Reporters actually make commentaries right there about the subject's credibility. However I am shocked to learn others do not see this as propaganda. Maybe because I spent so much time as a boy listening to Radio Moscow and learned to demand supporting facts, then I recognize propaganda rather quickly. Even Saturday Night Live's Weekend update is usually not that blanantly biased. Unfortunately many are so easily brainwashed as to believe that Listerene is effective and that retail store surge protectors absorb lightning. Neither provide any supporting facts to justify those claims. More benchmarks so that one can ask if they really are easily deceived. |
