I had two bowls of candy last night. For the kids who came around in a costume consisting of little more than a mask, I gave out the fun size and off-brand candy. For the kids that came around who looked like they at least put some thought into what they wanted to be, I gave out full size candybars and high quality nums. Though most of the ones in jeans, Tshirt and a little plastic mask were the kids who looked like they belonged in highschool. Too cool to dress up, but still wanting free candy. Effort, kids, EFFORT!!

I did the same thing! The ones who obviously put in lots of effort got better loot. There was one kid who had the coolest pirate costume on, and another little girl was the Statue of Liberty, complete with green painted face and torch. It looked like mom had hand-made the entire costume with lots of love. I wanted to give the parents candy, too, in those cases!
