Maybe this is something we should ask Flippant, but why would she feel the need to create an alter-ego in California who pretends not to know Mari? I'm not trying to beat this to death, but I just don't get it.

Flippant should really speak for herself. I think she wanted to create someone who was her polar opposite in every possible way. I suppose she might explain more when she next views this thread. Or maybe not. I can't speak for her. If you'd like Buddha to give a few comments that can be arranged. BTW, you'll notice that Buddha has avoided this thread like the plague.
