I didn't notice you could zoom in until after I placed my icon. So I'm actually off by half a state. Oh well.

Thanks to those who put themselves on the map, we have a nice sampling of people from different areas of the US. Where are the rest of the countries representatives ??

I'm up. The one you liked is flash, I'm playing with it at the moment, I'm piled under at the moment but I might take this on as a project in a week or two, be quite simple and muchos fun. Personally I'd say 10 hours top but it's a good excuse to play with db backed flash as well. If it's going to be used (obviously it'd have to be good quality) I'll add it to my to-do list.

great, jag put his up so now there will be splotches of white out all over the globe a year from now. or maybe you'll just have to list yourself as jag1, jag2, etc. we could fill up the map with the new "where's jag" game.

I'd be happy to put a good one up J, but how does Flash communicate with the database?

There are a variety of ways of getting data in and out of flash, LoadVars, in Flash MX+ make is dead easy to grab stuff from php or any other serverside lang (which I also like because I'm very familiar with PHP's DB access code). There's also flash remoting which is a whole app by itself that requires serverside components but using that for this is like using a nuke to crack a wallnut. Quiet lookout or I'll knock out your walker and hide your bifocals.
