Many websites such as the Cellar are still connected via T1 and so there is no way you will get any more than 1.5Mbps to it. There aren't that many legit reasons to get fiber yet, unless you do an unreasonable amount of downloading, such as you need to download kernels, or if you enjoy porn or pirated movies and TV.

But the fact that Verizon is putting it in, means that the battle royale is now officially ON between Verizon and Comcast. Soon Verizon will start shipping TV shows over that link, and after that we're off to the races...
