I operate a breathalyzer (actually an ALCO-Sensor brand) regularly. It doesn't take much of a blow to get a reasonably accurate result. Regular old exhale is more than enough for the breath test.
Is yours a Fuel-Cell kind? I chose that for my ignition interlock device because it it more accurate and won't give a false positiive as often. It's just $10/mo more. I think the auto devices are more complicated because they can't see if someone is emptying a balloon into it. So, you have to blow and buzz at the same time onto a mouthpiece. It's tricky. Serves as an anti-theft device for my pickup truck. Ha!

I am seriously thinking about buying a portable breathaylzer to take to events so I can encourage my friends to test themselves before driving. But, I would probably just piss them off if I did that.

Often not a good idea ... a breathalyzer at a party becomes a really cool contest ... who can get the highest reading in the shortest amount of time ...

Also, if you test someone at the site, they are below your state limit ... they drive and through the magic of metabolism their BAL goes UP ... they get popped for DUI and they blame you for the rest of their lives.

They probably think you're a terrible preachy asshole (I don't actually conceive of you this way) since you stopped drinking anyway. The Breathalyzer would only make that worse.

Wolf, your right again. Sorry UT. Will claim the over look was because of trying to get my rabbit assed mind around some of the more asinine post.

The bitch slipped her collar last night, but was on door steps when a friend woke me up this AM. I put her on a 10' chain and let her go to my swing around dark. There seems to to be a slight problem with Dotty as to who's the big dog I have a feeling she's been mistreated.
