Also the envelope icon at the beginning of each thread title changes color, beige in unread, blue is read and an arrow means you've posted in that thread at some time.

Most people don't use the nested view where that would be visible. If the context is not immediately obvious, it's best to use instead of , and delete all but the relevant bit. Lots of times I don't quote someone, thinking that I'll be the post immediately after them, and it turns out that someone snuck in before me. I'll often then edit my post to include a quote.

(I just happened to see this after making a similar suggestion on adifferent post - probably the one that prompted you to write this. )
