A Donny Hathaway Collection: I got interested in Hathaway a year or so ago when I wanted to hear the original version of "This Christmas," which has been butchered by 9500 people since he released it in the early 70s. Turns out that I knew some of his songs, just not him. And he grew up here in St. Louis, which is always a plus. The guy was a beast...great voice, insightful lyrics, solid musical chops. Sadly, he committed suicide in 1979 after battling depression for years. A damned shame.
