Conservative pundits (including some here) do come across to me as hostile on many occasions. Some liberal pundits (including some here) come across to me as preachy, whiny and/or unreasonable. Now I fully admit that I may be biased...I am a liberal with some conservative leanings (primarily on business issues and gun control). But I think many humans have an overwhelming desire to "win"...for many years, conservatives here have played the fear card. Liberals play the "think of the children!" card.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic or naive, but I'd like for our society to get to a point where you lay it all out without being a candyass and let the people decide. And when they decide, be gracious...whether you're the winner or the loser.

Well put. Folks come off as caricatures of themselves based on a few extreme positions. Its boring talking about commonly held beliefs.

That about sums it up for me. I don't consider myself as a conservative or a liberal. Guess because it would be difficult to explain to the Chruch Lady that I don't go to church and support a womans right to choose, but the libs can't wrap thier head around my gun collection and desire to support covert actions. No wonder people can't put a round peg in a square hole. If someone disagrees with you and will not see it your way they are "assholes" or "hostile". What a load of crap. They just have a different opinion and are supporting it in the the best way they see fit. I have never gone off half cocked at anyone who did not do so to me first. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

No, if somebody acts like an asshole, or is hostile, then that's how they will be seen. And it detracts from their viewpoint, rather than promoting it.

So as SG pointed out you were viewed in the same way when you started here, now all of a sudden you are setting some type of morality bar. I am respectful to those who do the same. Make up crap about me, who I am, what I think from some minor postings on a public forum is out of line.
