I can't tolerate the fungus. It ranks slightly lower on my worst foods list than coconut, which is known to cause projectile vomiting.

There is no danger of me offering to eat this IOTD.

It has competition.

I've seen giant puffballs in Colorado that approach that size. But they don't have the 'stem' part -- they're all 'cap'.

Genetically Closer to People

In other research, scientists have determined that fungi are more closely related to human beings and animals than to other plants.

Moreover, while humans and most species are divided into only two sexes, mushrooms contain over 36,000 sexes.

Talk about a confusing bar scene at the fungus dating spot.

Wow, we might be twins separated at birth. One of the things about mushrooms is they have no idea what texture to be: crunchy, squishy, soggy...bleh. And the smell of coconut will cause heaving!

But, i did find the mother of all mushrooms (of the variety people around here like to eat, don't ask me what they are) one year while mushroom hunting with my brothers and dad (which is actually fun!) I guess they ate it, i just kept the picture.
