I like it trimmed to just above the length that itches like crazy.
A couple more thoughts... #1 when dude trimes his bush it adds "visual length" because an extra 1-1.5 inches are visible (see: pr0n dudes) #2 when chick has shaved all the way, but is starting to get tiny whiskers, you can get whisker burn poking around down there
