My wife and I found a favorite little sushi joint right around the corner, ate there for about 6 months, loved it. Cheap, good, fresh, not too great on the service but I can live with that.
Then, one day, we went in and overnight it was like the place had been hit with the crappy stick. The food was AAAAAAWWWWWUL. We stopped going there. A week later, the health code inspector gave the place a "C". In LA County, you get ranked from A-F, and you have to display the rating so that it's visible to customers at the front entrance of the restaurant. You can also go online to the county health website, and see why the joint got its rating. This sushi place was docked for not keeping their glass fish display cold, for not properly cleaning their food prep area, and for serving "perished" food ... yikes! I was amazed to see that people still went there at all.
