Don't think it was a tank shell
Looking at it, I doubt it was a main gun round. I'm not SURE what the caliber of the Merkiva tank is (It's either 105 or 120mm), and you basically have 3 types of rounds
1)HEAT - High explosive Anti Tank 2)Discarding Sabot anti tank - no explosives, makes a hole - this is a "Maybe" 3)HESH - High Explosive S head - again, it'd do a lot more damage than that What I'd guess is that it was either an Armored Personnel Carrier round (typically 20mm) - The media often calls them "Tanks", but they aren't, OR It a round from one of the smaller guns on the tank - the COAX, or the commanders weapon. On US tanks, that would be .50 Caliber, and if they were using one of the high explosive rounds... |
