It sounds completely correct,
But... Macaroons make me laugh.

Why?

Because the air-raid sirens in this country are called maroons.
And although Mum was too young to hear then, she grew up with the term. For no real reason other than mutation of language, she started calling them Macaroons.

Given that they go off at 11.00 on 11 November, this silly family joke gets an outing every year.
Me & my bro laugh every time.
Then again, the real Remembrance Day is a solemn occasion for us, and the silence is always observed AND taken up with thinking of the fallen.
