Woo-Hoo! Problem Solved!

It seems that my birthday is in about a week, and now that the Mrs. has also discovered the joys of Win MX, I find myself the proud new owner of one of these...

...despite our current relative poverty. Happy birthday to me!

I am truly impressed with how well this thing actually works. Video quality is very, very good, audio equally so, right down to passing through the Dolby Pro Logic signal encoded in stereo DVD rips (yes, I know, stone knives and bear skins in my audio output...it will be fixed by Xmas). After tweaking picture size, fine tuning, saturation, contrast, brightness, etc being sent from the device, and doing some more of the same with the TV itself, I have a very good image when compared to my monitor, if you ignore the inherent resolution differences.

The *only* thing I am a bit unhappy with is the fact that this unit uses a combo type VGA cable (a VGA splitter, if you will), and when I hooked it up, it seems to have made my monitor a bit...well, 'blurry' is the only word that actually describes the symptom. Tightening the connector assembly seems to have helped, so perhaps I'll tighten it some more. Otherwise, I think I'm going to have to put a physical switch in the line somewhere so that the signal only goes to either the monitor or the transmitter.

Cool stuff!
