maybe Americans just can't make that vowel sound?

"Oh, you're British, ...really?" is almost always followed by "Say 'Harry Potter', you know, like Snape does.....PLEASE"

That's really making me laugh.

I might have to video myself saying Harry Potter for you.
I can't think of any other way to say it?!

Oh and pasta rhymes with Rasta for me too.
And not with faster, but with hasta.
