We do. But we live in a storm prone area that on occasion requires evacuation from the homestead. We left one time for Floyd a Cat 4-5 hurricane that headed up North and hit SC and NC.

We have enough food and water to last 2 weeks without power or any support.

And enough of the other stuff to take care of our own.
