I concur with Bruce's decision. Dwellars may contradict, even disparage, other dwellars' viewpoints and methodologies. They may even find each other intolerable. When they indulge in character assassinations; however, they become generally irritating. Other dwellars begin to avoid forums where that kind of presence exists. When a moderator intervenes by pointing out disruptive behavior, the individuals concerned have the choice of accepting or rejecting the suggestion to not become intolerably irritating through continued disruption.

I've seen TheMerc respond to moderator intervention by deleting one of his own posts and I've seen [C]lassic regroup. Redux remains defiant and is apparently unable or unwilling to recognize that there's a difference between that which is intolerable to Redux (because Redux believes it should be intolerable to everyone else too) and that which The Cellar holds to be intolerably irritating behavior (e.g. repeatedly posting disruptive content like individual character assassinations, physical threats against other dwellars, spam ... etc.)

Redux has pushed the envelope here to see if he could muster enough support to change the existing Cellar standards to suit himself. He did not and now seems to doubt that he can function within our present guidelines. This is indicated by his statement "If that means banning me, have at it." I think Redux needs at least a time out to sort out whether or not he wants to be here enough to accept the community standards.
