They did however refer to a Libertarian activist and an organization called Americans For Prosperity,
neither of which claims to be associated with the Tea Party.
But they are backed by Koch who has been known to assist in the funding for various Tea Party organizations
but that does not make them one in the same.

Since they have different names, you are technically correct in saying "that does not make them one in the same"
But if the Koch brothers are funding both organizations, and AFP is funding TP events, how are they not associated.
They are, even if they do not openly publicize those relationships.
